Should we defend the Faith?

The recent debate on ABC News Nightline with Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron with the Atheists has brought out a real desire to become a Christian that truly understands my faith. Ray and Kirk did a horrible job in defending the Christian faith, they were caught off guard and didn't have answers to some of the topics asked. So I have been thinking, is it important, or how important is it for me to defend my faith. How do I defend my faith when:

Christopher Hitchens says that the is a hosts of previous deities that were born of a virgin before Christ and that the story is just a repeat of a previous concept.

Richard Dawkins confidently claims that science can answer all the questions of our existence?

When others claim that there is evidence that Jesus did not exist by stating that there are very few "actual" texts that prove the existence of Jesus.

Can I defend those claims? Is it important for me to defend these issues? I tend to think that it is, my kids are going to be entering school soon and will have a lot of questions about this stuff, they will be exposed to many worldviews and I can only hope that I can present the Christian worldview as they most valid one.

Christians as haters

The link to Radio Liberty shows a FBI pamphlet in the Phoenix area. Notice the second page. People who defend the constitution or consider themselves "Christians" are considered "Right-Wing" extremist and are part of "hate" groups. This is outrageous, we as Christians need to understand that there are a lot of people in high up places that would love to take away our right to serve God. Keep up the Faith, defend the Faith and have a backbone.

Folks, they are already greasing the skids.

NBC News ran a piece that is very disturbing and brings to light that we are in the end times. At the site there is a Video section and the video titled The future of Biometrics. Watch how the media machine spins this implanted chip technology into something great for everybody. I suspect that over the next ten years this will be ramped up even more. Increasingly, we will hear about child abductions, and terrorism and the solution will be to identify any and everyone. Why do you think we have this government made problem of immigration? Wouldn't it be great to never have to worry about you child being abducted or knowing that you are safe from terrorists? All fine until you realize that many in high up positions consider fundamentalists(read Bible believing) Christians are considered more threatening than Islamic jihadist. Christian, don't ever fall for this, don't buy the hype, don't be deceived. Our brave new world is one that calls for control of everyone, read up on Agenda 21, understand that these initiatives are coming from people that have no love for our American Souvernty. I am one that wants to believe that we Christians will be taken out of here before any trouble starts, but when I read the Bible I don't see it. When the church mirrors the world in matters of divorce and pornography, I have to think that the Bride of Christ is not worthy to wear a white dress and may need a little persecution to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Transitioning

We informed our Pastoral staff at Church of the King that we are going to be attenting a new church. We will be going to Calvary Chapel of Oakland County, the church is 2 miles from our home and we love the preaching. Our family attended Chruch of the King for 3 years and developed great friendships. With 3 kids under 6 it is a challenge even getting out the door on Sunday mornings, then having to drive 30 minutes makes it even tougher. I pray for the leaders at Church of the King for wisdom and understanding in a time of history that certainly needs it.

Good Soldiers

I have a high amount of respect for this guy.
Many of my watchdog sites ignorantly lump him in with Emergent Village, but a little knowledge would show that he rejected McLaren and Pagitt after he found out what their theology was all about.

Casting Crowns

Third Day is my favorite band but these guys are certainly up there on my list.

"Christian" Yoga?

I have been participating in a blog about Christian Yoga. The blog is a watchdog site, for the Christian watchdogs like CRN in my blog role. I have to say it has been a learning experience to read the folks from the Emergent and Fundamental side on this issue. I lean towards not practicing "Christian" Yoga because it mixes too close to paganistic Yoga. If one wants to do the physical exercises there is nothing wrong with it. Why add the spiritual to it? We don't do that with other exercises, like walking or jogging? You can do the physical, take the spiritual out of it so that you are not mixing up the crisp line between Christianity and other religions.
